Victor Garcia, Illustrator / Artist
Happy Tuna Creative is the ethically-fished, tuna loving, brain child of Victor Garcia. The illustrating, graphics creating, custom branding, weekend artist that entered this world drawing.
Starting out with a hobby sketch book that ushered me through the doors of New York's Fiorello H LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts, I focused on Fine Arts, balancing a love of Caravaggio, Fauvism, oils, inks, and pastels, with a love of street artists Keith Haring and Cope, and illustrator, Moebius. From there, the Marion Effing Portfolio Scholarship took me to SCAD, the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, GA, majoring in Graphic Design, the consummate pivot act between structure and organic art, between fine arts and commercial art. SCAD was four years of learning, enjoyment, art, music, growth, and laying the foundation of the creative that I am today. Just what college should be.
Graduation and the dot.com era lead to the rapidly shifting NYC internet advertising scene and the beginning of a commercial and freelance graphic design adventure with roots in The Lone Star State. This adventure, and the growth and proliferation of the internet, has allowed me to expand and refine my commercial print production background, while simultaneously developing a niche of, small business focused, custom logo design and branding, reaching and maintaining clients on the West and East coasts, and throughout the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions.
Now that we've got the fun stuff out there, let's roll up our sleeves and get serious.
